- Wisconsin - 2006, Cha Vang, 30, was murdered in a
public hunting area in Marinette County. His body was later found
concealed in a brush pile.
- Pennsylvania, Menallen Township -
Paul Horvat Jr. was shot in the back, cheek and neck while deer hunting
on private property on December 16, 1997 . Police think the
murder weapon was a .243 caliber. Lawrence J. Cseripko was found
guilty of the first-degree murder in 2005 thanks to improvements
in DNA science. DNA analysis of deer entrails and blood found at
the murder scene were found to be an identical genetic match to
venison steak and chops seized from his freezer in March 1998.
- Wisconsin - 2004, six deer
hunters murdered by trespasser when they confronted him in their
treestand. Chai Soua Vang, 37, was convicted of murder and
sentenced to serve six life prison terms, one after the other.
- Wisconsin, Clark County - James Southworth 37, of
Medford, Wisconsin. Mr. Southworth was shot twice in the back near
his tree stand on family land near Neillsville on Novembe 23, 2001,
during the nine-day deer hunting season.

Pennsylvania, Westmoreland County - Steven Kachonik's, 39,
was shot in the chest with a shotgun while archery hunting from a treestand on
private property. $50,000 reward for information.
