Alaska Fatal Hunting Accidents

Below are some of the fatal hunting accidents that have happened in Alaska.

  • 2006 - Carl Abalama, 10, shot by his duck hunting partner as he stood up.

  • 2005 - Gary Kern, 37, of Gettysburg, PA, was killed when he stepped in front of an assistant guide attempting to shoot a wounded grizzly bear

  • 2004 - Rick Mills and companion Gary Davies were found dead just off the North Shore of Kupreanof last week. Rick's son David Mills, 14, could not be found.

  • 2003 - Joshua D. Nichols, 13, shot by father while deer hunting
