The Southern Copperhead is one of 5 sub-species which also include Broad-banded, Northern, Osage, and Trans-Pecos.

These venomous snakes are usually 24-36 inches long. There colors are very brilliant. The copperhead is a member of the pit viper family and is the most common venomous snake in the eastern US.
