This photos below
show the squash bugs during their life cycle. The photos was taken in Putnam county, Tennessee late
July.
The first photo below is of a nymph Squash Bug as it emerges from it's egg. The
second
photo shows a immature squash bug, and the last photo shows an adult female
squash bug laying eggs on the leaf of a gourd plant in Putnam county, Tennessee late July.
The eggs that are being laid are an almost green color, but as the nymph
matures within the egg they turn to a brown almost maroon color before they
hatch as you can see with the first image.
