Camping at Mammoth Cave National Park

Mamoth Cave National Park

Mammoth Cave National Park has three campgrounds.

Headquarters campground located near the cave area is the only campground we have used at Mammoth Cave. The restrooms and camping areas were very clean and so were the showers.

Headquarters Campground

Headquarters Campground has 109 sites, $16 per night. Hot showers (token-operated), coin-operated laundry, and a camp store near Headquarters Campground are operated from spring to fall by a concessionaire. 

 

Houchins Ferry Campground

Houchins Ferry Campground camping area has 12 primitive campsites and is the only campground open year-round, $12 per night. The other two camping areas are open March through November.


 

Maple Springs Group Campground

accommodates horses and large groups of people (8-24 per site), $30 per night. Three sites for groups with horses, and four sites for groups without horses. Offers 6 primitive campsites with no restrooms and no water.
