Drinking Spring
Life flows sparkling from the stone,
Down into the rock-bound pool,
Quenching more than thirst that's grown,
For to men it brings renewal.
There is more to life than water,
So we often take for granted,
Liquid life which our ancestor
Would as life itself have counted.
Thirst we meet in life's disguise,
And our empty cups we bring,
Fill 'em up; yes, seize the prize:
Life flows from a mountain spring.
